Sweating is but normal to one’s body as the perspiration signifies the response of the brain through the sympathetic nervous system to the sudden change of body temperature. This is due to some factors like sun exposure, physical exercise and even tension. However, sweating keeps the body cool, maintains salt level and removes some toxins from the body which is the most important.

But excessive sweating like in the armpit creates problem to some, especially if it shows on their clothes. Visible armpit sweat besides the regular showers and the use of antiperspirant does not only cause embarrassed moments but also give bad impression and can cause bad odor too.

Anyway there are some ways you can do to get rid of this embarrassing moment.

Tip #1 – Dry your armpits well after taking a shower then apply deodorant.

Tip #2 – So as to absorb extra sweat, you can put some baby powder or talcum powder on your armpits. Be sure to apply first the deodorant before the baby powder. This will absorb the sweat before it soaks your clothes.

Tip #3 – Try wearing undershirt or extra T-shirt so that you have something to absorb sweat before it gets on to your outer clothes. In this case your armpit sweat is hardly visible.

Tip #4 – Black and white shirt are least likely to show sweat so you can wear them instead of any other color.

Tip #5 – Avoid eating spicy foods like chili and garlic because they can increase sweating. Same is true with drinks that are high in caffeine.

Tip #6 – If you suffer from mild sweating only, you still can go for prevention by doing the following:

You must take shower every day even more than once a day. Give special attention cleaning and rinsing your underarms thoroughly.

Use washed cotton clothes daily.

Choose a good antiperspirant and deodorant. Do not interchange these two as some others do. Antiperspirant help reduce the volume of sweating under your arms and deodorant hide underarm odor. You can make your own deodorant if you wish to. Just mix some amounts of cornstarch powder and baking powder and you can add a few drops of essential oil for a mild scent. This mixture can also cause sweat to evaporate faster.

You can also spread talcum powder or medicated powder which helps slowdown bacterial growth.

Avoid too much exposure under the sun.

Tip #7

If you are experiencing too much sweating you can try the following treatments:

Topical antiperspirants

For standard antiperspirants, they are made of various ingredients which include an emollient liquid wax and an active ingredient compound which have a sweat blocking power. Aluminum based compound is the active ingredients of all antiperspirant which work on the sweat glands and prevent them from sweat secretion.

Individuals who sweat excessively can use antiperspirant with aluminum concentration of 10-15 percent while those who have more severe sweating need prescription antiperspirant which has an aluminum chloride content of 20% concentration.
